The following is a Company Announcement issued by Middlesea Insurance plc, pursuant to Malta Financial Services Authority Listing Rules Chapters 8 and 9:

The Board of directors of Middlesea Insurance plc, during the Board meeting held today the 27th April 2010, approved the audited financial statments of the Company and of the Group for the financial year ended 31st December 2009.  The Board resolved that these audited financial statements be submitted for the approval of the shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting which is scheduled for Wednesday 9th June 2010.  A preliminary statement of annual results is being attached herewith in terms of the Listing Rules.  The Audited Financial Statements will be available for viewing on the Company's website at www.middlesea.com as from the 30th april 2010.

The Board of Directors do not recommend the payment of a dividend.
